Canadian Blood Services and Trillium Gift of Life Network worked in collaboration with the Critical Care Canada Forum (CCCF) to host the Deceased Organ Donation Symposium that took place October 3 to November 4, 2017. The program reviewed current clinical practices and advances in the science of organ donation medicine, including emerging topics and evolving research. Videos of the seminars were recorded to provide those unable to attend an opportunity to meet Canadian and international critical care experts in the field of deceased organ donation.

The 10th Congress of the International Pediatric Transplant Association will be held from May 4-7, 2019 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The meeting will start on Saturday, May 4 with 2 pre-congress symposiums including a half-day Foundations in Paediatric Transplantation Pre-symposium and a full-day Allied Health Pre-symposium. The main meeting will start in the late afternoon of Saturday, May 4 and will continue for 3 full days closing on Tuesday, May 7.

Canadian Blood Services has recently made progress on several fronts that may further evolve the eligibility criteria for men who have sex with men. This includes supporting more research projects as part of the MSM Research Grant Program and working to reduce the waiting period from one year to three months based on the latest evidence.
