Event details

About the 7th International Meeting on Transplantation from Donors after Circulatory Death:

Transplantation of organs from donation after circulatory determination of death (DCD) donors has become an accepted practice in many parts of the world. It remains a focus of intense interest in the transplant community due to its huge estimated potential to increase the organ pool, and DCD has been a particular stimulus for recent advances in research and clinical practice in the field of organ preservation. In spite of its potential, however, the actual transplantation of organs from controlled and to an even greater extent uncontrolled DCD donors remains relatively limited and variable between centres and countries.

By merging the 7th International Meeting on Transplantation from DCD and the 4th International Workshop on DCD, we provide an unparalleled opportunity for individuals working in the field of DCD to enhance their knowledge. The dynamic meeting format will provide everything from didactic sessions and hands-on simulations to updates on the latest clinical milestones and results of translation research.

The Hospital Clínic, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and King’s College Hospital in Barcelona, Birmingham, and London, respectively, are pioneering centres in the use of organs from DCD and have come together to provide the most comprehensive educational event on DCD organ transplantation to date.
