Eye and Tissue Reports and Surveys

Canadian Blood Services works collaboratively with the Canadian tissue community to develop and implement leading practices to improve the quality and safety of tissue produced in Canadian tissue banks. This work includes leading practice workshops, public awareness and education campaigns, national data collection, publication of Canadian eye and tissue banking activity and the design and implementation of recommendations and systematic reviews for five areas of practice for tissue bioburden reduction and control.

Eye and tissue data dashboard, 2020

This interactive dashboard reports on the recovery, processing and distribution of ocular and tissue allografts across Canada. The data presented here are validated results as of Dec. 31, 2020. In 2020, data was submitted from 16 eye and tissue banks and one recovery program representing a census of all Canadian eye and tissue banking activity. The dashboard includes nine main pages are that separated into three topics: donation, ocular grafts, and tissue grafts.
