The National Rotation is an annual educational program organized by Canadian Blood Services that brings post-graduate medical trainees from across Canada together for two weeks of virtual synchronized interactive learning in transfusion medicine at the blood operator level. Through a series of expert-led seminars, participants will engage with subject matter experts from across Canadian Blood Services, gaining exposure to topics ranging from an overview of the national blood system to highly relevant clinical and medical aspects of transfusion medicine.
The National Rotation is designed to provide a foundational and practical knowledge that supports clinical training and future practice.
Sessions are held annually during November and are scheduled each weekday afternoon after 1:00 p.m. ET to facilitate participation from post-graduate trainees and faculty across all Canadian time zones.

Trainees who participate in the National Blood Operator Rotation will receive a post-program survey via email following completion of the two-week series.

Upon completion of the survey, participants will receive their Certificate of Completion for the National Blood Operator Rotation.
Program Directors and residency program administrators are invited to register their post-graduate trainees for the National Blood Operator Rotation.

Registration details, schedules, and joining information will be provided to registered participants prior to the start of the program.
The program is intended for post-graduate trainees registered through their residency program and program directors.
All sessions are delivered virtually through live, interactive Microsoft Teams seminars.
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions to maximize learning opportunities and successfully complete the program requirements.
A certificate is issued following completion of the post-program survey distributed after the rotation.
