Event details

In April 2018, the untimely passing of Humboldt Broncos defenseman Logan Boulet resulted in six lives being saved through the use of his donated organs. This directly inspiredthe largest number of newly registered organ and tissue donors in Canadian history. Harnessing this positive momentum, Green Shirt Day was created to remember all the victims and families of the Humboldt crash and to continue the legacy of Logan Boulet. This discussion aims to address how Albertans, and all Canadians, can keep Logan`s legacy alive and how we can learn from successful national and international jurisdictions to improve the culture of donation in our communities.

Speakers:

  • Toby and Bernie Boulet, Parents of Logan, an organ donor
  • Claire Williment, NHS Blood and Transplant, UK
  • Irene Phan, BC Transplant

  • Roxanne Ferner, Liver and Kidney recipient
