Seminar series: The British Columbia Provincial Blood Coordinating Office - old dog, new tricks

This event is part of the CBR seminar series. The BC Provincial Blood Coordinating Office (BC PBCO) was established in 1997 as an advisory body to the BC Ministry of Health following the Krever Commission (tainted blood scandal). Its mandate is to promote and facilitate appropriate, safe, and standardized transfusion of blood components and plasma protein products; including their alternatives in BC. During this talk, we will discuss the history of the PBCO and how their initiatives were developed to translate science into projects, programs, and resources; as well as upcoming initiatives to demonstrate how transfusion evidence can influence policy and practice.
