Journal Club: Age and Gender of Donors and Outcomes of Red Cell Transfusion Recipients

Objectives:

1.   Discuss the influence of donor age and gender on properties of red blood cells.
2.   Share prior data on red cell donor age and gender and recipient outcomes.
3.   Present study on the association between age and gender of red cells and outcomes in very low birth weight neonates.
