1.   Explain the study design and findings for a recent international randomized trial of platelets to preterm neonates.
2.   Discuss the implications of these findings for practice and research in neonatal medicine. 
3.   Discuss the broader implications of these findings for platelet transfusion practice and research (beyond neonatal medicine).
