Objectives:

1.  Discuss the pathophysiology of neonatal jaundice and management strategies when jaundice is severe.
2.  Review transfusion related neonatal adverse events, particularly necrotizing enterocolitis.
3.  Review recent trials focusing on neonatal platelet transfusions.
