Our annual impact report is created to showcase the incredible people in our research and education network while reflecting on the achievements around knowledge generation and evidence sharing over the past fiscal year.
Among the successes highlighted in this year’s report, Supporting Research and Education for the Canadian Blood System, are four impact case studies and five spotlights on work in progress. Each one illustrates how Canadian Blood Services’ investments in research and education continue to deliver on the principles that led to Canadian Blood Services’ creation more than 26 years ago.

Featured on the cover is Senior scientist, Dr. Sandra Ramirez-Arcos, whose microbiology lab at Canadian Blood Services celebrated over 20 years of research that has enhanced safety measures and product innovations by informing storage processes, skin disinfection protocols, and screening and testing procedures. Learn more about Dr. Ramirez-Arcos' research in this short “Meet the researcher” video and in the case study on page 4 of the annual impact report.
