Learning objectives

1. To highlight the critical role of Transfusion Medicine in ensuring rapid and effective blood supply management for wounded soldiers on the battlefield.

2. To demonstrate the significance of Transfusion Medicine in reducing combat mortality rates by providing timely transfusion therapies and blood products to injured military personnel.

3. To emphasize the strategic advantage of integrating Transfusion Medicine practices into military healthcare systems to enhance readiness and resilience in future wartime scenarios.

The LearnTransfusion series is the seminar component of the Areas of Focused Competency (AFC)-Diploma Program in Transfusion Medicine. The series, organized by Canadian Blood Services, is also open to all practitioners in the field of Transfusion Medicine. Through a series of regular webinars, trainees and practitioners are exposed to various scientific, technical and clinical aspects of transfusion medicine.
